Time To Go Back

Over the last four year in college, God has taught me to take my life one step at a time. If I had it my way, I'd take it ten steps at a time, but as I've learned, the majority of the time, he only gives us one step at a time. I can't answer in complete honesty the question "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?" I can barely even take a guess at where I'll be in 12 months. But, God has taught me time and time again that he already knows the next step and every step that follows. I can see clearly how he's laid those steps out one-by-one over the past four years; retrospect is 20/20.

Approaching graduation this December, I've been praying earnestly for God to reveal what the next step is for me; as faithful as he is, he answered me. Beginning in January, God began to remind me time after time of the passion that he appointed to me three years ago to serve in Alaska. I knew that if I went back this summer, it would have to look different than previous summers for an assortment of reasons, so it wasn't as easy as going to what I'm familiar with in Alaska.

Through loads of prayer and loads of searching, God revealed an opportunity to serve on a summer-long project with Campus Crusade for Christ in Juneau, Alaska. For so many reasons, this opportunity proved itself a perfect opportunity for me this summer. After some more prayer, applications, references, and interviews, God established the next step in my life.

The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.

This summer, I will be serving on the Cru Summer Project in Juneau, Alaska. Our vision will be that we would be a team who loves God, loves people, and loves Juneau. There will be a fairly even balance between focusing on growth in the community as well as inward growth in our own lives. We will be working various jobs throughout Juneau as a strong area of evangelism. Additionally, we will be hosting community outreaches with local churches, and spending plenty of time in the Word growing together as men and women of God. I am going into this summer expecting great things from God and I know however great my expectation are, they will fall short of what God actually has in store for Juneau this summer. 

Pray with me that God moves in miraculous and indescribable ways through this project.
